Just as how Tzu Chi started in Taiwan with 30 humble housewives each saving a few cents daily in their bamboo coin banks to raise funds for charity, we, too, can combine our loving contributions and give love and hope to underprivileged families and communities.
Tzu Chi volunteers began their work in Toronto in 1992, establishing a Service Centre in 1994, which became a chapter in 2002. In 2020, it became Tzu Chi Canada’s Eastern Headquarters with locations in Toronto, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Ottawa, and Montreal, serving communities in Ontario and Quebec.
Joining Tzu Chi is simple in action and wonderfully satisfying in results. Anyone with a willing heart can volunteer.
