In Canada, Burnaby Tzu Chi volunteers have been providing needy students of the Byrne Creek Secondary School with nutritious breakfasts twice a week. With the encouragement of the school staff, volunteers decided to participate in the Gift Basket Program launched by the school-a program that provides needy families with daily necessities and food.
