After the outbreak of COVID-19, countries around the world faced a shortage of masks and protective equipment. In order to protect front-line nursing staff, Tzu Chi Canada donated 120,000 disposable masks and 4,000 face shields to the British Columbia Government. In addition, volunteers went to the local shelters to provide masks for vulnerable groups.
