As snow storms continue to batter Vancouver, Tzu Chi volunteers braved the cold weather and made several trips transporting aid supplies in preparation of an upcoming aid distribution for impoverished families.

In Canada, the new director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver, Zhuang Hengsheng recently visited the Tzu Chi Canada Chapter to gain a better understanding of Tzu Chi`s missions in the country. Inspired by Tzu Chi`s philosophy, Zhuang promised to encourage his family members to join the volunteers` ranks.

In Motreal, Canada and China`s Shenzhen and Dongguan at their blessing ceremonies, members of the community and care recipients were invited to celebrate the arrival of spring. In Haiti, where Tzu Chi volunteers not only handed out blessing and wisdom red envelopes, but also encouraged participants to adopt Tzu Chi`s bamboo coin banks to cultivate more blessings.

In Canada, Mai Xiang was paralyzed after an advertising billboard fell on his neck. Although once feeling helpless, with the support of his family and Tzu Chi volunteers, Mai has regained the courage to move on with his life.

To care for the seniors in Canada, Vancouver Tzu Chi volunteers recently visited a nursing home to entertain the residents there. Seeing that some of these residents were the same age as themselves, volunteers realized that having the ability to give is the greatest blessing one can have.

In Vancouver, Canada, Tzu Chi volunteers visited senior residents at the Mount Saint Joseph Hospital, where they not only put on various shows to entertain the elderly, but also prepared Jing Si Aphorism volumes to enlighten residents’ spirituality. 

Continuing to celebrate the arrival of spring have been Tzu Chi volunteers in Surrey of Canada who held a large scale ceremony following the establishment of their office in January. And in the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers and Tzu Chings in Boston, Massachusetts, came together to welcome in the New Year as well.

In the United States, Ohio Tzu Chi volunteers braved the wind and snow, to pull off a beautiful spring festival. Meanwhile in Canada`s Vancouver, Tzu Chi volunteers also held a spring festival, during which, many talented individuals performed, to bring joy to their audience.

In the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers in Austin,Texas held a Chinese New Year celebration at the Murchi-son Middle School. During the event, participants donated their filled bamboo coin banks while others adopted one for the first time. First, let`s go to Canada where Tzu Chi volunteers in Northern Toronto and Mississau-ga both held Lunar New Year events.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Tzu Chi volunteers organized various events around the globe. In Canada, the Vancouver Tzu Chi Academy organized a workshop for children to learn traditional crafts and enjoy the New Year`s festivities.
